Behind Serra and Mesu there are us, Franco and Massimo, two brothers with a suitcase full of dreams and a heart full of the desire to change their lives. Tired of the frenetic pace of industrial life in Sassuolo, in 2007 we decided to follow the voice of the heart and look for a place where we could put down roots, close to the sea and uncontaminated nature.
The spark struck during a trip to discover the central-western coast of Sardinia. We were enchanted by the wild beauty of this land, its breathtaking sunsets over the sea and its atmosphere of peace and serenity. It was the perfect place to realize our project: to create an accommodation facility where we could welcome guests warmly and make them feel at home.
After visiting dozens of lands, almost discouraged, we found our corner of paradise: a semi-destroyed farmhouse in Nigolosu, a place that Massimo had already spotted in the past. Love at first sight! We purchased the property from an order of Franciscan nuns, aware of the challenge that awaited us: completely renovating the farmhouse, refurbishing the vineyard, pruning the olive grove and rebuilding the stone walls.
With a pinch of recklessness and a lot of passion, we dove into this adventure. Unfortunately, the economic crisis, Italian bureaucracy and the lack of state aid have made the path longer and more tortuous than expected. It took six years of work and sacrifices to transform that ruin into a welcoming and functional structure, capable of offering our guests an unforgettable stay.
Today we are proud of what we have achieved. Serra e Mesu is the fruit of our commitment, our passion and our love for Sardinia. Every corner of the structure tells our story and our desire to offer our guests a unique experience, made of relaxation, well-being and authenticity.
And it doesn't end here! We still have a dream: to restore the adjacent church, which will become another strong point of the complex. We want Serra e Mesu to become an even more beautiful and complete place, a point of reference for those looking for an oasis of peace and tranquility in Sardinia.
